Hardware on Windows

Would it be terribly difficult to replace the hardware on a window? For example, on a vinyl double hung, if it currently has a white lock but I would like antique brass, is that possible to do?

Possible if you can find out who makes the lock and if it is even an option.

Post up a picture and who made the window?

It would be best as suggest to use the window manufactures hardware.
That way it would have the same screw spacing and same throw to do the latching.
It there off the screws will pull out.

Hardware on Windows

We just ordered them, don't have them yet.

I know we could have just got the hardware we wanted with a custom order, but that wasn't an option in this case.

The American Craftsman window is a SilverLine (Andersen parent company) if I am not mistaken.

That lock looks similar to the Simonton lock which does have the option of an antique brass.

Call SilverLine and see who makes their hardware (they don't).
