good read on windows

On another section here, we had a discussion about heat loss, in general, and comments were made about whether or not you lost much heat through a window via radiation. As I have often mentioned here, the GBA forum has some great blogs, like this one, the third one on windows. It is worth reading if you are interested in windows, replacement or new. Windows have become incredibly complex in the last 10 yrs or so.... as has a lot of building science. "And the beat goes on....."

good read on windows

Good Read.

The price of Krypton and the other exotics (Xenon) make them cost prohibitive in my mind.

There are several windows being released this year that will have different IGU thickness to accommodate a triple pane argon window at optimal thickness to use the less expensive gases.

One of them will be out later this year and out of a standard gas fill, should give you close to and R-7 total unit value with more common technology and at a much more competitive prices.
