External Trim Around Windows/Caulk

Hey gang forgive my ignorance but what is the metal type trim called usually found around the outside of windows? The main reason I am asking is I want to re-caulk some of this area on an older big bow window that the caulk seemed to have cracked and giving way (see pic). What type of caulk is used in these types of area's? Thanks in advance!

Apply a small bead, wipe with your finger, wipe again with a damp sponge.
The caulking will do 0 good all over the trim or the window jams, it only needs to be in the gap.

What was likely used was OSI Quad.

If you don't need a special color, go with any paintable exterior latex like Joe mentioned.

A good caulk like Quad will last, and tooling is not necessary if you have even a minimal amount of skill. I'd recommend avoiding DAP products except for the interior.

What's the problem with DAP I used it before and don't remember having issues??

lol... It is harder to work with and does not last as long as other products like quad, vulkem, and solar seal.... As I mentioned, for interior usage its okay, although even then, I've seen it crack and separate in less than a year. OSI makes a nice product for interior use called H2U.
If you couldn't tell, I'm a big fan of OSI products... Quad exterior, winteq foam, H2U interior.... I should get a discount for all of this free pub!
