entry door

I have a question regarding entry door size. I'm having someone custom build a door for me for an addition to an old house -- 19th C Greek revival. the door will be a solid dutch door, with a two pane transom light above, no sidelights. i want a door that will feel appropriate to the house and age, and want something a bit wider than typical. standard is 36" i believe, but what are standard increments to go wider? given he transom I plan on a standard heights i.e. 6'-8". I know a wider door will be a bit unusually proportioned but thats the idea. any insights appreciated!

As far as what the standard sizes are above 36" No idea.

However, comma, I did some flooring work in the home of a family whose 'matriarch' was about 300 lbs or better and in a wheel chair. Their front and side doors were 40"(?) if I remember correctly. Not positive about the door size but I know they opened out.
