Easiest way to remove bottom 1/2" of jamb/casing of split jamb BEFORE hanging door?

I have finished hardwood floors, I'm installing new doors with a split jamb. I think next time I will get flat jamb and just case them after since it's not very difficult.

What is the easiest way to get a consistent accurate cut through all the jamb and casing?

Don't say pull saw after I install it. I have finished floor in place, I need to trim them before I install them.

Thanks in advance!
- Dave

Make a saw guide by screwing two scraps of plywood into an L shape---clamp that the the jamb--let the other side hang over the casing----use a circular saw with a good sharp blade.

I would use a good sharp hand saw.

Awesome idea, I didn't think of that. I was using something similar to make weird cuts in plywood with a circular saw. I'll have to try this method if I have any more split jamb doors. I'm very UNimpressed with the quality and squareness/warpage/gap. What should you expect out of a "finished" door for $58 though.
