Door for wine cellar - sealed, insulated and low ceiling

I am building a wine cellar in the corner of my basement.
This will have 2 walls against the cement walls.
The other 2 walls will be built and insulated to keep the heat from the rest of the basement out of the cellar.

I looked at entry garage doors at the store.
They are sealed and I am guessing insulated.

But they require a rough opening of 82" for a 80" door.
The max height I have is 78" for the rough opening.

Any comments on the type of door I should be looking for?
Would I need to custom order the door to size? Or buy something that I could cut down?

Thanks

Order a custom door.

They are not that much more expensive in most cases and messing with the door is more trouble than it is worth.

Yep, insulated flat panel or even raised panel prehung doors are available in any size from a local lumber yard. Big box is not a lumberyard.

I wish I had a lumber yard in my area.

You can get custom doors thru them, but they would be my last choice.

I'm pretty sure that you do, they just don't promote themselves on a retail basis as their primary clientele is contractors. I'm sure that you can find someone close to you in the links below:

Over the last two years - had to have two custom doors built.
The end result was fine.
However, we had to be careful dealing with the person that was ordering them.
The level of knowledge and expertise, at the "service desk", can vary!

Check what the "server-person" is ordering, before you have them order it!

(Yeah, they were from a "Big-Box", store!)
