Door naming by Facilitys

We have many buildings that we perform maintenance on. Often we run into confusion of what door is being discussed. I would like to map all doors electrically so it would be easily displayed for discussion. I am looking for ideas to name or number all these doors in a professional manner? Any ideas

Door naming by Facilitys

I would recommend using the building number, followed by the floor number, followed by a sequential number. Example: Facility located at 123 east main st., 2nd floor, 3rd door would be 123-2-3. Facility located at 456 north oak st., 1st floor, 2nd door would be 456-1-2. Put a label on the heel of the door almost at the top. If the door is fire rated, add an F to the back of the number so you know you might have some special hardware to deal with (123-2-3F).
