does length of casement operator arm matter?

I have a 9.5 inch dual-arm casement operator on my home's window, but all Home Depot carries is a 10 3/4 inch variety. Will that matter?

Thank you!

I highly doubt it will work.
Do you know the manufacture of the window? May have to order one.

im with joe on this one. when it comes to replacement hardware for windows and doors home depot is the last place to go. figure out which brand of window you have and contact the local dealer.. if that brand no longer exists go to anothe window company and take the part in with you.. going through a window dealer will be far less hastle than dealing with a college student wearing a orange apron

Warren, Welcome to the Forum.
Look here for some Casement Window Replacement Operators.
Because there are so many different styles plus they come in RH and LH versions,
I recommend that you look for a local source in your area.

Replacement is a very easy DIY project, you just have to find a source.
A local hardware store is usually a far better source than any Big Box store.
You can only get a recommendation for a source from a local DIY Reader if you include your own location.
