Dead Bolt on Front Door Changed Color?

I am hoping that someone can shed some light on this issue. I bought matching handles and locks for our two front doors. Yesterday, I noticed that the deadbolt locks are both discolored. They started out as brushed or satin nickel but now they are very yellow almost brass looking. What can cause this and is there a way to restore the original color?

Thank you.

Most manufacturers have finish warranties. Call the manufacturer first.

The yellowing may be the result of the clear coat that is applied to the hardware degrading in the UV light.

Same brand, matched set???

That shouldn't happen, call there customer service department, hopefully they will replace them.

I've never seen that issue before.

Dead Bolt on Front Door Changed Color?

but now the issue becomes who is going to replace the dead bolts. I had someone install them for me. I don't want to pay for someone to do it. I could probably figure it out. I have replaced several door knobs inside the house.

If you can replace a door knob then you can replace a deadbolt.

The procedure is exactly the same.
