cutting inside window stop molding

Hello
I am replacing the missing window stop molding also called jamb extension. My question is what are the correct compound miter saw settings to make the molding fit together at the top? I have tried all different settings for crown molding, but nothing seems to work.
Help!
Thanks
J

A pic would definitely help here, as you might be a little bit confused on the proper terms. Most interior woodwork is mitered at 45 degrees strong, unless it is crown or something along those lines.

Ok, those are inside stops, and they will be mitered at 45 degrees in the upper corners.
