custom door project

So I recently made a wall dividing two rooms, In a garage apartment that I play around with. It has an opening 34 1/4 inch wide and 81 inches tall. The wall is a box frame, covered with drywall. What I am planning to do is make a boxframe for the door, and use drywall to close it, so that it blends in with the wall when closed, and creates a "secret" room. More for fun then anything. I was wondering at how much clearance I should give for the hinges so that it can close pretty tightly, and maybe some ideas on a "handle" that blends in. Thanks in advance

I think this is what your looking for, Soss Heavy Duty Concealed Hinges.
  • For 1-3/4" and 2" door thicknesses.
  • Hinge is completely concealed when door is closed.
  • Hinge opens a maximum of 180 degrees.
  • Made from high strength plated steel and heavy duty zinc alloy castings.
  • For full size doors.
  • Reinforced nylon at wear points for long life.
  • Matching screws are included.
  • Mortise depth 1-19/32"
