is there a good, non-abrasive product to clean a gray spotty film off the exterior surface of my large window?

cleaning gray film off exterior windows

What surfaces? Glass, frame, etc?

Is there a window screen on the window? If so, what material is it made of?

If the screen is aluminum, that gray film is usually oxidation from the aluminum and cleans off very easily.

If the spotting is in the painted surface, it is often mold and requires a bit more effort to get it off. In some cases, it is coming from behind the finished surface and is impossible to clean.

vinegar and water was the old standby, Windex, and others should also work fine.
