What is this product called? still exist?
20 years ago I briefly lived with a family who used a heavy duty film mounted on a shade roller over their stairway door during the winter months to prevent heat from escaping from the living area. The film was transparent but had a mirrored quality to one side. For added description, the film was noisy when moved to walk up the stairs. I'm assuming it was a radiant barrier of some sort. Do you know what it's called?
I now live in a 1962 home which has an uninsulated family room between the kitchen and the garage. I would love to add this product to the doorway between the kitchen and the family room as a temporary measure to try to stop some heat loss this winter. I could use a thermal curtain but I'd prefer the transparancey aspect of the product I'm looking for to prevent possible collisions (I have kids) and the room room needs to be accesible to get to the garage.
Any help is greatly appreciated. So far, after hours of google searches, I've only come up with clear curtains used for livestock.
