temporary basement insulation - over window or around?

I am finishing my basement, starting with insulating. I plan to put in an electric sauna but right now there's a window where the sauna will eventually go. I can't take the window out and brick up the opening until next spring, should I plastic over it on the interior and build stud walls overtop, or build around it and add a section in the spring? the walls will not be finished (drywalled) until the spring also.

And what do you plan on doing, when the basement starts growing mushrooms, and mold & mildew takes over on the floor.

You absolutely need to have a complete and finite vapor barrier around the sauna if you are ever going to use moisture/steam in it.

That huge amount of moisture and aggressive pressures will create the mold issues that greg is referencing if you are not careful.

As I stated in the original, I'm not building the sauna right now, it's a project for next year, all I was asking was, is it better to build a complete stud wall now, or frame the window that I will be taking out in the spring and restud that portion when it's removed. But thanks for the sarcasm, very helpful.

It was not being sarcastic. Sarcastic is, do what you want, but have fun with all of the mold & mildew that will happen down there.

A home no matter what you do with it, will not be happy with a sauna being placed into it. You would need large cfm exhaust fans in the space to pull the humidity and hot air that leaches from the sauna box, into the rest of the home.
