Rafter Vents

Hi All

i finally got my first piece of conflicting information, that is, i don't need rafter vents for every bay! that houses only really need one every 10ft or so.

How true is that? Do i really need one every bay? half as many? quarter as many? or leave as is.

I do have plywood boards that act as rafter vents, about 4 that i have seen.

Rafter Vents

Got a picture of the outside of the house and of the soffit area?
Why not just use a ridge vent?
It will vent the whole roof, looks a whole lot better. A whole lot less work to install.
