No vapor barrier above 1 pc. shower to attic

I was just up in the attic inspecting for a real bad smell. When I pulled the 2 layers of batt insulation off from above the 1 piece shower, I noticed there was no vapor barrier under the insulation. It looks intentional.
There is vapor barrier there from the rest of the homes ceiling, that I can join to. I think it's necessary but I'm not sure? I live in Ontario, Canada. The 1 piece shower, backs onto an exterior wall which is log. The interior walls/framing are 2x4, no vapor barrier, and 3 of the 6 voids don't have pink batt insulation in them? The area looks dry, with no moisture damage.
My main question is should I vapor barrier above the shower?
Any help would be appreciated.

Ask the local AHJ, most of that area requires the air/vapor barrier continuous...

Yes most climate zones require a vapor retarder of 1 perm or less. and you are in the climate zone that requires it.
