Man cave inside polebarn - insulation question

I am dividing up my 30 X 50 polebarn into a shop / storage side and a "man-cave" side. I have the outside walls studded and insulated with R-13. I'm planning on a drop ceiling for the man-cave side, but I want to add insulation above that.

I have attached a pic of what the roof looks like now. Can I just put some 1X2 blocking up between the trusses and put the R-30 insulation on top of that, or is the drop ceiling strong enough to just roll the insulation on top of it?

I appreciate any suggestions.

i don't see 1x2 holding up that much insulation. i would put 2x4's 16"oc. then drywall.

roger that on the 2x4's, between or under the trusses. then, blow in cellulose and be done w/ it. air seal the sheetrock as best you can, and provide ventilation.

If you install the drop ceiling with sufficient hanger wires, you should be able to just roll the fiberglass insulation out on top of the suspended ceiling. Just be sure that whatever light fixtures you install are rated IC.
