Hello, I have a porch that was built in but does not have no heat in it right now. I want to insulate the underneath of it and it does sit about 10ft off the ground. I was wandering what the best way to insulate the floor would be since it is in the air like it is...thanks for any help
They don't rent machines for spray foam. You're thinking of blown in cellulose or fiberglass (if you buy so many bags the rental is free). They do sell spray foam kits such as this by Touch 'n Foam. There are a bunch of different kits available online (I've heard good things about Tiger Foam). Figure out how many board feet you'll need then price out the kits. Spray foam is expensive so you may want to "flash and batt." Spray about 2" of foam to air seal then fill the rest of the cavity with some type of batts or cellulose.
Yep was planning to do that didn't know if I could just use r30 and put the plywood on but I was looking at the roxul.....what r grade should I go with the roxul
I don't know where you are but up here I'd put in about as much as I could.
