insulating the steam pipes

hello. i have steam pipe lines in my apartment. i have insulated the MS pipes with glass wool. I am thinking that if i use any gas insulation (say Chlorine gas insulation) i will be able to save energy as gases have very low thermal conductivity. Is it safe to use chlorine insulation.? What will it averagely cost for insulating 1 meter of pipe.? What if there is a pitting in pipe and chlorine gas enters the steam flow? Is using gas insulation advisable.?

Not sure I even know what you are talking about.

Can you provide some more details on it?

The reality is that insulating steam pipes that are used for heat that are inside building envelope do very little in terms of efficiency.

I would use standard insulation.

I would leave it all alone as you are not the owner. If you added something to the building and problems arose, you would be liable unless you had written approval from your landlord.

If any ads are present in my answer above, I do not condone/support/use the product or services listed, they are there against my permission.
