Insulating a Renovated Mobile Home
Hi,
We gutted this mobile home all the way to the insulation attached to the inside of the metal roof--which is covered with a plastic vapor barrier. Because the insulation is "stuck" to the roof, the bottom of the rafters are still available for insulation.
We are planning on using R-13 15" by 3.3: faced insulation for the 2 X 4 walls. But are confused as to how to insulate the rest of the ceiling.
Question is:
With the insulation being stuck to the roof with a vapor barrier already there, should we install unfaced R-30 on the rafters? Put faced R-30 on the rafters, lay unfaced on the top of the ceiling, or lay faced on top of the ceiling?
ALso, if we use unfaced on the rafters, what is the best way to secure the insulation?
Thanks,
Murph
