Installing baffles

Hello new to the forum I'm getting ready to start adding insulation to my attic
As of right no there are no baffles above the sofit vents so I want to add them the house is a 1200 sq ft ranch I have 6 sofit vents and a ridge vent do I only need to add baffles above those vents or add them on every rafter or every other?
The attic has 6 inches of blown insulation which is slim for the Midwest climate I'm in

#1, Adding your location to your profile is a big help with questions like this.
Just go to quick links to edit.
#2, You do not have enough soffit venting.

#3, Here's a guide to the min. amounts of insulation you should have.

#4, Make sure to air seal any place wiring, plumbing, and ceiling fixtures run into the attic with spray foam before adding more insulation.

The sofit style is maintenance free aluminum with holes in it so I would imagine it is a open style sofit? I cant just cut holes add to it like wood sofit or can I? Also as in seal the attic basically make sure I have no heat loss from lighting fixtures and bathroom venting otherwise I won't see the full affect of the added insulation? How many baffles need to be added

When you look in the attic can you see light where those vents are.
Here's my concern, way to many times I've seen where they installed the vented soffit but never even made any holes or cutout for the venting in the plywood behind it.
There's several ways more venting can be added.
The coil stock can be removed without damage by tapping in the trim nails with a nail set, then remove some of the solid and replace with vented.
Round snap in vents could be added between the ones you already have.
And last Smart vents could be added.
