Hollow vs Solid core door - What insulates (temperature) better?
What insulates better in terms of temperature? I need a door for my cold storage room and since it's in a bedroom, I'd like it to have good insulation properties.
I know for sound insulation, solid core is better. But what about temperature? Does the air trapped in a hollow core help improve its insulation properties, or is a solid core door better? |
Why not frame it in for an exterier metal door. Then it would be air sealed and foam cored for insulation.

+1 for the exterior door. neither of the wood options has stink for R value. good gaskets are as important as whatever (little) R you can get from any standard door.
