We have two different types of foam insulation for two different roofs that are attached to each other. The main house and bedroom are separated by a breezeway (12x26). The breezeway has spray foamed rafters. The other two are spray foamed with an air gap (cathedral). We have ice dams that look like glaciers. It looks like the heat from the breezeway is melting the snow between the rafters on the main and bedroom parts of the house. I insulated the breezeway ceiling with fiberglass insulation but that didn't help. Should I vent this attic area. Right now the ridge vent has been sealed off and I do not have soffit vents that would go into the small attic area. The ridge vents on the main part of the house and bedroom have ridge vents that are not blocked off. Were should I start?
