Foam around heat vents

So I am in the process of putting up XPS in my basement, cutting small pieces and putting them in the joist cavaty's against my sill plate (I think thats what its called) Anyway I was reading the can of great stuff that I am using to seal up around the foam and it says it is very flammable.

To that I ask. Can I use it to seal up around the heat ducts that are going upstairs?

I can post a few pictures later today.

Yes you can but it's more often done with foil tape or mastic.
A heating duct at the end of the run is never going to get hot enough to cause it to burn.

I really want to seal up around the floor and the heat duct to minimize the sound transfer that happens at that point. There is a good 1/2" between the floor cut out and the duct work.

I can go and get whatever I need to make it right.

Foam is fine there. You just can't use it around chimneys etc. (the exhaust side of combustion appliances)
