I have noticed that the area under the bathtub is pretty much open. That is, the subfloor, is open. Seems like cold air could come up aorund the tub, although there is no direct opening into the bathroom. Any reason why it would be like this ? I've thought of closing it in, but don't know why it was left open,....condensation? We're in the Bay Area, in No Cal, so it doesn't get real cold, but still down to 30's this time of year. The house has a crawl space.
Stuff it full of insulation unless you can patch some wood in there.
Plumbers leave that open so they can get to their plumbing easier when they install the tub and expect us carpenters to come behind them and fix it.
