Finishing attic insulation plan

Here is my insulation plan
use Demilec Heatlok Soy 200 7.4 R value at 1 inch
spray 5.5 in thick for room and 2 in thick for the rest of attic roof.
I am also thinking about adding fiberglass under the 2in foam section of attic.

Here is what the space is looking like.

What do you think?

I think the R-7.4 is a little high, and tricky advertising. Most SPF is R-6.5 and yet... Probably how they are meeting the testing requirements. You are aware SPF " ages" and stabilizes for it's R-value? Did you know that brand lists (chart at end), R-26 for 4" = R-6.6 not 7.4, don't be fooled by the sales pitch, or at 10" = R-6.64; http://www.demilecusa.com/wp-content...ok-Soy-200.pdf

Thermal drift in SPF: http://www.kwikbuildpanels.com/pages/article_facts.html

Pages 3-6; http://www.passivehouse.us/passiveHo...ive_Houses.pdf

Buyer beware...your 5-1/2" = R-6.63 per inch for total R-36.5.

1) I like your hat.
2) I'd prefer to seal and insulate the kneewalls rather than the roof deck in the attic areas, which turns that into conditioned space... That is unless you have a valid reason to not do so? I see that you are planning some sort of built-in unit, so perhaps that is your reasoning?

HomeSealed

The attic does not have any vents or soffit, So I am thinking I should keep it that way and do a unvented Attics.

What do you think? Would I have to add soffits and vents if I don't condition this space?

Finishing attic insulation plan

I calculated 4,100 bf of insulation

Any Idea on what this will cost for CC spray foam?

Thanks,

Chris

It would be best to vent that attic space.
