blown insulation questions.

Hi,
I am wanting to blow some insulation into a 2nd story bedroom. The problem is there is no access to the attic. As well, the attic is only about 3 to 4 feet high. One thought I had was if I could blow the insulation in through the vents on the roof. Of course, I would have to remove the vents. I am not sure this would work though. The only other solution I can think of would be to cut an access hole in the ceiling. Am I on the right track?
Also, I was thinking of getting the blown insulation at lowes since they provide the blower for free rental. I am curious though how far the blower throws the insulation?
thanks.

i don't think the vent thing would work well = very uneven distribution.

make an access port and get up there.
