Blown in insulation
I just found out the previous owner put the batting in upside down(brown side upI want to have a r 38 blown fiber glass product blown in. the contractor wants to remove all the brown facing then blow in . Will this cause a problem or should I suit up and flip all of the batting(brown side down)

Where is the home?

Best bet would be to air seal the top plates first, then overblow the attic.

Vapor retarder level should be to the warm side but whether or not is even necessary depends on the location.

I'm located in the lower southeast pa. just outside of Philly. close to delaware.
we get cold and a good amount of snow.
What do you mean by air seal the top plates?
Thanks Hank K.
