basement insulation question
I have a basement that was put up by the builder with studs and fiberglass insulation .. I was planning to drywall the basement to make one big open room. What i was wondering is if i should take down the fiberglass and poly. Then install foam board by cutting a section out so i can slide it down the wall into place against the concrete.

I have about 1 inch and 3/4 gap between the studs and basement concrete wall.

I am not sure how this would work for glue application with such a tight fit. Maybe use spray foam on top and joints? Then tape them?

Sorry for all the questions.

Where is the home located?

No need for poly and foam board. Foam board will serve as an effect vapor retarder if properly applied.

The home is located in Alberta Canada.

I would definitely take down the FG and poly combo. Not a great option for up there.

Rigid foam and air tight drywall is the way to go in your application.

Check out Building as they have a bunch of wall designs that are perfect for your climate.
