Basement Insulation

I have these large white sheets of insulation coming down the walls in basement. Are they needed? Are they worth the space they take up?

Basement Insulation

Very likely EPS insulation, and, yes, you very likely need them, though they should be covered w/ sheet rock for fire "proofing". Before you cover them, get some tape that is compatible w/ them and tape the seams, and/or goo them w/ appropriate goo (to air seal).
