Amount of heat loss worth caulking?

Amount of heat loss worth caulking?-image-1494195527.jpg Ugly ceiling I know... And paneled walls I know, but drywall is not in the budget at this time. Older house built in the 70's. Plenty of blown in cellulose insulation in the attic. How much heat loss could occur in those spaces between the molding and the ceiling tiles? Worth my while to spend an afternoon caulking? Thank you in advance.

Depends on what's under that paneling and ceiling.
If it was over drywall that was taped then there should be no leaks.
May be able to tell some what by going in the attic to see if you can see the back side of drywall and pushing on the drywall to see if it flexes between the studs.

Without knowing whats behind it like Joe said...might be like putting bubble gum in a dam leak.

There's no drywall. Looks like maybe just a 2x4(top of framing?). None of the blown insulation from the attic is able to fall through.

What's on the back side of that paneling?
If there's no insulation in that wall just the energy savings if you removed it and insulated it would soon pay for a few sheets of drywall.
I can see where that type ceiling would be real fun to try and clean.
If I had to do any caulking I would remove that cove moulding, caulk it then reinstall it.

Thank you for the reply. It's an interior wall, so no insulation is behind it, just wall studs. My concern is heat loss rising through those cracks. I may go ahead and caulk it anyway just for cosmetic reasons, even though it's gonna take about 47.3 tubes of it. Lol

I'd use Alex 230, take your time, apply it, wipe with your finger, when wipe down with a damp sponge.
