Raspberry Plants

I've got 10 raspberry plants set to arrive in a few days. We've still got a bit of snow on the ground. I realize I'm WAY to early to plant, but these plants (bareroot) stay for around 10 days after they arrive. I planned on using raised beds, which will help in terms of warmth of the soil, but is there anything i can do to keep the alive till it warms up?

I usually wrap the roots in wet newspaper or paper towels. Just enough to keep the roots damp. Keep the plants in cool area out of direct sunlight and they will be OK.

How long can I keep them this way? I still haven't got the shipment, so there's still hope the lows will get out of the freezing range when they arrive.

They should last 2 to 3 weeks as long as you keep the roots moist. What part of the country are you in?
