pumpkin and cantaloupe growth

I have pumpkins and cantaloupe in my garden. I have fairly robust vines with flowers, however, no fruit. I live in Buffalo, New York. Is there anything I can do to encourage fruit production, or am I now too late into the season to do anything about it?

Thank you for considering my question.

When were they originally planted ?
My pumpkins have been growing for a while
I already have several that are ripe
Have you been watering them ?
Without enough water they drop off the vine & will not grow

I only have one canteloupe growing, softball size

pumpkin and cantaloupe growth

They were planted in doors the last weekend in March. This is my second year growing a garden, so I'm new at this. I really don't know how much watering is needed, but I've surely given it more this year as compared to last. I water it once a day, sometimes twice depending upon weather conditions. The leaves nearest the roots of my pumpkin plants have become brown and have withered up and died; however, the plants have grown to great lengths are flourishing further up the vine - just no fruit. Can I do anything to encourage fruit or is this just luck of the draw? I have seen nothing develop... just flowers.

Thank you for your input.
