Is My Garden Ruined?

Next to my house, there is an office building. Storm water from the parking lot drains into a ditch, which flows under a tunnel to the drain. The tunnel got stopped up, the ditched overflowed into my garden.

I guess the garden will drain out, but I am worried that oil from the parking lot will make my vegetables unhealthy. What do you think?

This was not a good thing to happen but I would not be overly paranoid. It is not like you suffered a BP class Gulf oil spill and the soil will filter most out. We put worse things on food crops under current inert labeling loopholes that go with fertilizers. The soil will naturally filter and break down most of the organics.
