Med palm issue

Hello to All,

We have a total of 4 Med Fan Palms: 2 in the front yard, both doing great, and 2 in the back yard, one doing great and the other is why I'm posting here.

The two in the back are planted in the same soil and receive both the same amts of water and sun. However, one of them has brown tips on almost all of the leaves except the brand new fronds. The healthy one also has other fronds growing out of the ground right next to the trunk, The one w the brown tips does not. Neither of the ones in the front have any brown tips either.

Can someone pls tell me what is going on and what I can do to treat the palm? If you have any questions, pls let me know.

Thank you very much and Merry Christmas to all.

Could be spider mites. Look very closely for cream colored spots on the leaves that move slowly and are smaller than this period at the end of this sentence. Spray with insecticidal soap regularly. If you have no food plants growing nearby, a systemic insecticide will also work.

Thank you Chuck - I will make a close examination and see what I have under a microscope as well. Since I have no food-producing plants nearby, what insecticide do you recommend? If you have any qualifying ques's Chuck, pls let me know?

Looked, no spider mites that I could detect...the leaves have dark intermittent spots on them from the brown tips to about 1/2 way up. The lowest or oldest fronds are yellowish-gold towards the ends, while the newest fronds are solid green and look perfect. The ones in the middle of the newest ones and oldest ones have mostly the darker intermittent spots in them...the other Med Palm has none of the issues in any of the fronds whether the oldest or newest or in btw...hope this helps

I'd take the leaf to the local garden center(not big box stores) or agricultural coop and show it to them
