Keeping The Critters Out

What's the best way to keep animals such as deer out of your garden? I was thinking of a single electric wire with a low voltage. Would that work good enough or do I need something more?

How about the simple bar soap on a rope method like they do at the orchards.

There are many deer repellent products on the market. Or you could try one of these remedies:

Or add deer-repellent plants.

They are awfully clever. One place I lived sold "Zoo Do" of predators that actually worked well. It broke down quickly though. Another zoo was more than willing to let you pack your own if you helped shovel out living spaces for lions, tigers and so forth. Perhaps a zoo volunteer op with crappy benefits would work for you?

Any time you add raw manure to the garden you have to watch things like Ph as it breaks down.

I think other products mentioned that work are made from urine extracts of predators.

Adding plants they simply will not eat is a great idea also. Or mixing enough of them in with others they will not take the time to forage for the ones you want?
