Hard to access spigot. Advice on correcting this?

I have an outdoor spigot that was installed on my house behind my gas meter making it hard to hook up my hose. Any advice on how to correct this problem short of installing a new spigot? Thanks!

NOPE. But you are not talking a major plumbing challenge here. Why not just move it where you want it?

A cheap and easy work around solution might be to sacrifice an old hose. Cut it to three feet or whatever length works, add a replacement end and just leave it on the spigot where the new end is accessible.

I think one of those fancy garden companies sells a faucet on a spike. You put it anywhere and just screw a hose in both ends. The only problem I see is the hose is more likely to fail then metal pipe, so if you leave the faucet on the house on it may spring a leak between there and whatever you rig up. That would be the benefit of having the faucet moved on the house.
