Boat motor water feature

I decided I wanted to display and old boat motor and have it as a water feature. I thought a galvanized cattle waterer would work and I could bolt the motor to the cow tank and have the water bubbling up with a few water plants in the cow tank. But motor has a brass rod the whole length and I hate to hide this. Any ideas?
