Wood stain on drywall.

I just put up two shelves up in my house. I tapped around the selves before I stained them. But the stain went through the tape and got on the wall.

What's the best way to get stain off my painted walls? Can I just re-paint over the stain? It's a dark brown stain.

And you did not stain them before installing, because?
There is nothing that going to get stain off of a wall.
Now you going to have to use a stain sealing primer then repaint.
May want to take down the shelve so you do not get paint on it.

No I stained them why they were up. Alright I'll figure something out

You will want to cover the stain with a stain blocking primer if it is an oil based stain---then touch up the paint===
