Where to use 1/2" when rest of house is 3/8"?

i had mentioned in my thread before that my dad sold our storage building and i had to put all of my kitchen stuff inside my house. Well also inside that building was a bunch of real hardwood flooring and most of a 4x8 sheet of 1/2" drywall. He gave these to me, since i am in the midst of a remodel. The hardwood i can use in the small bedroom, but i dont know about the drywall. The rest of my drywall is 3/8", so is there anywhere i can use 1/2" regular drywall without it sticking out? Im using 1/2" in the bathroom but not regular drywall (maybe cement board, not sure yet). Can i use this somewhere or is the whole sheet just trash?

All the walls should have been 1/2 not 3/8. Just lean on 3/8 and it's going to bust through, Your going to need green board or paperless sheetrock in a bathroom.
There is no need for tile board behind that enclosure, sheetrock will work just as well.

We used 3/8" because there were some parts of the house that the sheetrock was good and didnt need replacement and i wanted to be able to have a smooth transition between the old and new sheetrock. For example, the 12' piece in the bedroom with the roof pitch outline on it that i can use as a template, and save myself some money. For me to reuse it, the sheetrock around it had to be the same thickness.
Back to the original issue, this piece is normal drywall that is too thick to use on the walls. Anywhere you can think of that i can use it without it looking out of place?

you can use it anyplace, where the 3/8" will butt to it's face. not the edge. say in a closet side wall or back wall? you can't tell the thickness from the face.

Pretty typical for older trailers to be 3/8"

yep all the old drywall was 3/8" so thats what i went back with. Cheaper than 1/2" too. Plus i know its pretty thin but it seems strong once its on the wall. Its up in the kitchen and it doesnt bend at all when someone leans against it. I used it as a prop to brace myself when i almost slipped on the ladder and it didnt budge.
