Vertical vs Horizontal revisit

Since I can't do math, I'd like to edit this to a theoretical question instead.

If you are hanging drywall on a narrow wall, is there any reason not to just hang a wide panel vertically to avoid having to tape and mud joints?

Thanks!

Vertical vs Horizontal revisit

If it's less then 4' then there's no reason not to hang it vertical.

if the studs are perfectly on 16oc then i always hang them vertically, i find its alot easier on your shoulders when taping/mudding. the only downfall is its a little tougher for a newbie to eyeball where the stud is when screwing the board up but thats why they invented tape measures.

Less than 4' always go vertical when possible.
Over 4' then go horizontal, seams show less this way.
Also use longest sheets possible.
