toggle bolt stuck in stud

I used a toggle bolt into a stud but it won't go in any further so about 1 inch is outside of the wall. I tried to back it out with the drill but it seems stuck. What should I do?

are you talking about a metal toggle bolt, or one of those nylon or metal EZ anchors. if it's an EZ anchor, just put a vise grip on it and twist it out. if it's a nylon one just cut it with side cutters and spackle over it
