Texture over drywall repair
I own a small cinderblock home in FL.
I am trying to repair holes/cracks in the exsisting drywall.
The drywall is textured somehow and I'm not sure how they did it, or how to duplicate it (there is no pattern to the texturing)
When I spackle over the holes or cracks, my repair is smooth.
Also, the paint they used is glossy enamel.
I'm not sure if they used enamel paint to keep down mold, or if that's all they had, but it's in every room of the house.
Please advise as to what I can use to texture the drywall again, before I paint.
Hard to say without a picture of the existing texture...
Yea I have had issues with this also. Its pretty easy to pick off a spackle repair because its so smooth. Especially with a high gloss paint on it. I have heard of guys watering down regular spackle and applying it with a paint roller to create some texture before painting it. But I am no expert on it and would like to hear some other applications people have successfully used.
