Taping a very tight inside corner?

Above a shower stall there is only about 3/4 of an inch of clearance on the wall above the tile and below the ceiling. Not enough for a full/proper tape job in this tight corner.

Should I cut down the tape to fit here? If so, does the tape need to have some clearance from the tile, or can I run it almost to the tile.

I'd rather not remove/reset the tile for obvious reasons.

just trim the edge against the tile with a sharp razor knife. Compound as usual. Caulk along the edge of the tile
