spackle

There was an old cup holder glued inside a nice formica cabinet door. It wouldn't come off so I pounded on it and it came off.

Also an amazingly large section and layer of the inside door came off with it and it looks bad. Is spackle what I need to buy? Then I'll repaint the door.

thank you

I would use this instead.

Less likly to crack as it drys since it's a thick layer, drys hard as wood, sands great.

The stuff is great! I've been using it since the mid 70's. HD carries it, Lowes may too. There's a reason they call it "rock hard". Not the easiest to sand, so don't apply too heavy a coat. A couple of thinner coats are easier to deal with.

just bought it today at Lowes. Am anxious to try it. I'll let you know if a novice finds it decent to work with.
