simple drywall questions

i am putting in a new bathroom and am just not sure on a few things. I used mold resistant sheet rock and also picked up some mold resistant tape for the dry wall... i could not find and mold resistant mud however so i am just wondering if you are supposed to just use regular drywall mud to do the bathroom. Also i put in a preformed shower and am not sure how to hang my sheet rock around it. The shower has the flange all the way around it to attach it to the wall. Do i put my sheet rock up over on top of that flange and then caulk the seam between the drywall and the shower or do i run my sheet rock up to the flange and then tape and mud the gap up to the shower. If someone could kind of walk me though that i would appreciate it

No need for special mud.
I like to use 1/4 shims on the walls around a shower unit like that so there is no hump at the flange at the top of the shower or on the sides.
Yes the whole wall would need the shims.
You did install the ceiling first, right?
The drywall is installed about 1/4" above the curved area on the flange.
Then it get caulked with a paintable mold resistant caulking.

The shims can be 1/2 lattis, or ripped strips from a sheet of plywood.

Just to clarify the drywall covers the flange. Some use a 'plastic' moulding or tile to cover the joint between the tub and drywall, others caulk it.
