Seams are visible - possible to re-mud and re-tape after the walls are painted?

Now that my trailer is not specifically for me anymore, and is destined to be a rental, my mom is concerned that some of the mud lines in the master bedroom are visible. For this room we used paper tape and it was the learning curve, so some of the seams are a little jacked up.
We used mesh tape in the living room and are having much better luck, so i have a question.

The room is already painted. Is it possible to remove the tape and redo the seam using mesh tape and fresh mud? Will the mud stick to the painted drywall?

I used Olympic semi-gloss in Grey Marble, three coats, no primer. I know the popular opinion on mesh tape, but i prefer it over paper.

You could probably save yourself a lot of time and headache if you sprayed the walls with knockdown texture. Depending on how bad the tape joints look now, the knockdown will cover a lot of imperfections.

No need to remove and re-tape just sand down the high joint and re-mud. And be sure to feather it out farther.

Thanks but the issue is the tape not sticking to the wall, its coming up and therefore visible. We removed it this weekend and retaped. So far so good, i guess time will tell.
