Rotozip the doors and windows-bits dont last

what am I doing wrong? Broke 2 bits in short order rotozipping out doorways.

Is there a way to make this easier? chuck them deeper so dont touch wood so much?

Move faster---It's easy to over heat the bit---you will learn---and wreck a few bits on the process.

To fast and they snap---to slow and they get hot--

and sometimes there is no explanation--

100% sure your using the right bit?
Are you cutting in a clock wise direction? (starting on the left, go up, at the top moving from left to right)

Also,
Keep a light pressure on the bit, don't over do it. You have to acquire a feel for the bit against the hard surface you are trying to follow. Set the bit just deep enough for the pilot section of the tip to run on the stud.

Counter-clockwise.

it's been a long time, but I remember, if cutting around outside perimeter? cut clockwise. if inside? such as window and door openings cut counter clockwise

bought a 1/4" bit and that seems to help. those 1/8 bits are like small drill bits,,,broken.

Can you chuck them just 1/2 deep plus the bare nose? the less stud shaving you do seems the better. Its not a router after all.

That's the whole reason the tip is there, to act as a guide. Set to low the bit's going to over heat and dig into the wood.

Agree joecaption. If set to high the pilot will also heat up. They do not last very long if not set right.
