Replacing a few individual tiles in bathroom - chiseled a bit into the drywall

I am trying to remove about 20 individual tiles (not adjacent) from my bathroom and shower to replace them with plain white tiles (currently, these tiles have hideous pictures of different birds on them). I just tried removing one tile so I could get a sense of how laborious this will be. I removed much of the grout and after some chiseling and hammering, got the rest of the 1st tile off. Unfortunately, I went a bit to deep with the chisel and broke into the drywall (there's no hole through the drywall, but I did chip off some of the surface).
I had purchased 2-in-1 tile cement/grout for the project. Can I use this to level off the area of damaged drywall before I replace the tile? Drywall compound? Or what is a reasonable option for me? Again, this project involves only about 20 tiles, and hopefully I'll be able to remove the subsequent ones more cleanly.

Thanks!

If a minor ding, the adhesive will fill the void. For big holes I would fill with drywall compound, mesh tape.

Thanks. I should add (although perhaps it's obvious) that the paper surface of the drywall has been damaged.

Are you saying you have drywall in a shower? If so, that is not good. Among other things I would not use drywall compound to repair. Tile adhesive does not like gypsum patching stuff. And you should be using thinset mortar in powder form in spite of the drywall in wet area.

I'd recommend not removing that many tiles. You're liable to cause more damage including breaking tiles you don't intend to remove. Are they that ugly? Birds are nice.

I don't know if I have drywall in the shower. I've only removed one tile, from a wall near the sink, and there was drywall behind. I've got 12 of these hideous tiles in the shower...and yes, they are that ugly ;-o
