Repairing a corner beam in kitchen

I have two corner beams I need to repair in my kitchen from getting granite countertops installed.

Some drywall is missing and the corner beam is detached form the drywall.

I will need to patch up the hole about 1" X 2", put in a new corner beam of about 2 feet, and remud.

Does anyone have some good tutorials, and/or tips? There are a lot of different videos on Youtube and it's hard to tell what is good or not.

Attached are the left and right side of the window, and a uneven gap at the top of the window.

I would use a vinyl bead instead of metal. Or No-Coat corner (watch their vid on you tube) The down side though is their product is pretty pricey.

just fix it as if where any where else. but, when sanding down by the granite, put tape on the granite so it doesn't get scratched.
